Telehealth services have given those living in rural and remote areas of Australia the ability to access psychological services without travelling a substantial distance. The demand for telehealth services has significantly increased during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Australian Government made new Medicare telehealth items available to help reduce the risk of community transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) and provide protection for patients and health care providers. This initiative will be available for four years.
